The Trust

The South West Youth Games Trust was formed in September 2016. Our registered name is the Devon Youth Games Trust and our charity commission number is 1169058. The Trustees are drawn from a variety of backgrounds with expertise in sport, business, media, marketing, events and leisure. Our Trustees are:

WILL SMITH - Chairman

A former rugby player and now, committed support. The entrepreneur is owner of the award-winning Complete Estate Agents.

 

CHRIS BROADBENT - Chief Executive

A keen runner with an in-depth experience working in senior roles in sport and physical activity from early years through to elite level, including two Olympic Games.

JAMES TEED - Treasurer

A Leisure Manager with Teignbridge Council, James has a wealth of sports and leisure experience working with LED Leisure in Exeter and East Devon and now as strategic lead with Teignbridge, overseeing operations at four facilities across the district. He has a Masters in Coaching Science and is a Football Association qualified Fitness Trainer.

SARAH BISHTON - Secretary

Associate lecturer at Exeter College, she is a prominent figure on the region's netball scene and an ambassador for Devon Girls Can.

SIMON SCOTT-NELSON

CEO of Wellity Active - the sports and activewear brand started by three Devon children who believe that kids should be better informed about health and fitnessWellity Active are ambassadors for Young Enterprise, Sugar Smart, The Great British Sports Show, Healthy Cranbrook and the South West Youth Games in order to promote the benefits of active living. 

DEBBIE MOORE

Head of Client Experience at Big Wave Media, who specialise in leaisure industry marketing. Debbi has worked across the UK over most of the last 21 years helping leisure providers with trying to increase community participating via a number of methods such as;

  • Mentoring and Training -  individuals and teams
  • Programme and Brand Development - targeted to the demographic.
  • Development of Customer Centric Operational Procedures in Leisure Facilities
  • Creating Effective Communication Pathways both with staff and the community
  • Reporting and Monitoring – developing and analysing Key Performance Indicators

All with the primary aim of improving the health and wellness of the communities in which they serve. As principle organiser of the Exeter Business Games she have seen first-hand how the power of bringing people together - businesses and teams, can help people with not only their team building but also their physical activity habits and make a huge difference.

 

JAMES BROOKES

A keen runner, he is a Group Associate Director at Water Babies

ANDREW CROSS

An expert on environmental sustainability. He is Director of compostable food packaging company Earth Friendly Foodware Limited and sits on the board at Plastic Free North Devon.
