Sherwoods have agreed a three-year partnership to support the South West Rotary Youth Games. Like the Games, the Newton Abbot-based building services engineers work right across the South West region, working closely with councils and schools.
This year’s Games have already seen over 500 young people taking part in the January’s school Skipathon, April’s Indoor Rowing and Street Sports Finals and this month’s Netball finals.
On Saturday 7 July, the Summer Finals will take place at Dawlish Leisure Centre where around 2,000 young people will compete in 14 sports among a festival full of free activities to get all the family active.
The Games are huge catalyst for local activity with around 120 GET INTO events taking place across the South West to preparation for the region-wide finals, reaching thousands more young people.
Kevin Sherwood, Managing Director, Sherwoods said: “We’re really excited to be able to support the South West Rotary Youth Games, as active Rotarians with a passion for developing young people, we can really see the value in the positive impact that the Games have on our young people.
“It is our pleasure and privilege to be able to give our backing to this event and to commit to that support for the next three years.”
Chris Broadbent, Chief Executive, South West Youth Games Trust said: “We are delighted to be joined by such a well respected and professional company on our journey to create a healthier, happier South West. “
"Kevin and his team share our vision and we really appreciate their support in helping us make a real difference to the lives of young people across Devon and Cornwall.”
