Cornish Teams Set for Games Debuts With less than three months to go until the Devon South West Youth Games, the South West’s biggest annual youth sports event is set to welcome teams from Cornwall for the first time. The addition of ten team entries from Cornwall to this year’s Games is a stepping stone towards the event developing into the South West Peninsula Youth Games for 2017.  Cornwall School Games Organisers have confirmed they will be sending teams to participate in the 17th Annual Games being held at Okehampton’s Simmons Park on Sunday 3 July. The South West Youth Games has formed a new board of trustees to help oversee and plan for the future direction of the multi-sport event.   Chaired by former BBC Devon presenter John Coates, the board also includes Herald Express editor Jim Parker, former Team GB media manager Chris Broadbent, former University lecture Ian Roberts, Director of Sport & Assistant Principle of South Dartmoor Community College Steve Dinnie, Business Manager Paul Haigney, Rotarian Peter Bennett and Solicitor Marinella Hollies.
